Sounds Of Silence
2 Eye 360 stereo with custom song hype sticker on the shrink wrap and censored rear cover. Released in January 1966, Simon & Garfunkel’s "Sounds of Silence" album marked a pivotal transformation in the duo’s career. Initially, their debut record "Wednesday Morning, 3 A.M." had little commercial impact, prompting Paul Simon to temporarily move to England. However, producer Tom Wilson remixed the acoustic track "The Sound of Silence" by overdubbing electric instruments without the duo’s knowledge, effectively turning it into a folk-rock anthem. The single became a surprise hit, reaching number one on the Billboard Hot 100. Spurred by this unexpected success, Simon returned to the United States, and the duo quickly assembled the "Sounds of Silence" album, which included both new material and reworked tracks from Simon’s solo efforts in the UK.
