Mid/late 70's US 2LP gatefold reissue; Presswell pressing with "18" on labels. "The 1972 Parrot Records album, Them Featuring Van Morrison, is a two-LP compilation containing 20 tracks. The first ten, on Sides One and Two, are culled from the 12-track Parrot Them Again LP; the last ten, on Sides Three and Four, are culled from the 12-track Parrot Them album. Presumably, both of those albums were out-of-print by 1972, and at the same time, Van Morrison had become a solo star, thus making this repackaging economical. Among the 20 tracks are Them's three U.S. hits, "Gloria," "Here Comes the Night," and "Mystic Eyes," plus more Morrison originals, and some R&B covers. There are extensive liner notes by Lester Bangs. This album itself is now out-of-print, and has been superseded by an identically titled 1987 single-CD compilation that contains a different selection of 13 Them recordings."
