Factory Sealed 1968 Stereo Original. One Stateside Album That Collected Most Of His British Hits, As Well As A Few Other Tracks. Besides "I Put A Spell On You" (Head And Shoulders His Best Early Performance), It Has All Of His Other Late-'60s U.K. Hits, With The Exception Of "Don't Stop The Carnival." There Are Also A Couple Of Serviceable Originals, A Nice Version Of The Little-Known Goffin-King Item "On This Side Of Goodbye," And No Less Than Five Early Randy Newman Songs In All. Price Was Surely Newman's Biggest Booster At The Time, Running What Amounted To A Randy Newman Appreciation Society On Disc. An Uneven Effort, Running From Solid Bluesy Pop/Rock To Mawkish, Chipper Quasi-Vaudeville (The Latter Quality, Unfortunately, Is Typical Of The Newman Tunes Here). It's A Better Assortment, Though, Than The Only Other Representation Of Price's '60s Sides, The World Of Alan Price (On Decca U.K.), Which Duplicates Much Of What's Here. Both Lps, Unfortunately, Are Pretty Hard To Find Nowadays.” Richie Unterberger, All Music Guide.
