Harris, Eddie

Versatile Eddie Harris
Sealed, Tough To Find 1981 Original Recorded In 1977. Tiny Saw Cut. “This LP Has Quite A Bit Of Variety From Tenor-Saxophonist Eddie Harris. Most Of The Selections Are From February 20, 1977, Although There Are Also Two Slightly Earlier Cuts That Feature A Rare Sideman Outing For Trumpeter Don Ellis, And A Humorous Version Of "That Is Why You're Overweight" From 1981. Otherwise Harris Is Showcased With A Quartet That Includes Guitarist Ronald Muldrow. In Addition Harris Has Duets With Muldrow ("No One Would Believe") And Drummer Paul Humphrey ("One Man Section") And Takes A Vocal On "Drams Are For Real." No Matter What The Setting, The Highly Original And Always Funky Eddie Harris Is Heard In Prime Form.” Scott Yanow, AMG.
