Manzanita
NM 2023 maroon vinyl original still in shrink. Best known as the lead guitarist and vocalist for surf rock band La Luz. Manzanita is the second solo album by Shana Cleveland, an American musician and songwriter who is best known as the lead guitarist and vocalist for the indie rock band La Luz. The album was released in 2019 on the Hardly Art label and is a departure from Cleveland's work with La Luz, featuring a more stripped-down sound and a focus on her acoustic guitar playing.

One of the most interesting things about Manzanita is the way that it blends different musical influences and styles. Cleveland's guitar playing is heavily influenced by folk and country music, but she also incorporates elements of psychedelic rock and pop into her songs. This results in an album that is both familiar and unique, with songs that are both catchy and introspective.

Another noteworthy aspect of the album is the way that it explores themes of nature, solitude, and introspection. Many of the songs on Manzanita were inspired by Cleveland's experiences living in the Pacific Northwest, and the album has a dreamy, contemplative quality that reflects this. Cleveland's lyrics are often poetic and impressionistic, evoking the beauty and mystery of the natural world.
