Shake It Up
1981 US Club pressing with custom inner sleeve. Released in November 1981, "Shake It Up" is the fourth studio album by the American rock band The Cars. The album marked a notable point in the band’s evolution, as it embraced a more accessible, radio-friendly sound compared to their previous record, "Panorama," which leaned towards experimentation. Produced by Roy Thomas Baker, who worked on the band's earlier albums, "Shake It Up" features a blend of new wave, rock, and pop elements, characterized by prominent synthesizers and catchy hooks. The title track, "Shake It Up," became The Cars’ first Top 10 single in the United States, cementing the band's presence in mainstream music during the early 1980s.
