1984 Original. Released in 1984, "Talk Show" is the third studio album by American all-female rock band the Go-Go's. Coming on the heels of their successful earlier releases, "Beauty and the Beat" and "Vacation," "Talk Show" faced the challenge of sustaining the band's commercial momentum amid internal tensions and the changing musical landscape of the mid-1980s. The album was produced by Martin Rushent, known for his work with the Human League, and introduced a more polished, radio-friendly sound compared to their previous raw, energetic style. Notable singles from the album include "Head over Heels," which became a Top 20 hit and remains one of the band's signature songs, and "Turn to You." Despite some positive critical reception, "Talk Show" did not achieve the same level of commercial success as their debut, peaking at No. 18 on the Billboard 200.
