1977 Original in gatefold. Released in 1977, "Hard Rock Town" is Murray McLauchlan's sixth studio album and the only one credited to "Murray McLauchlan and the Silver Tractors." This album emerged during a prolific decade for McLauchlan, a period in which he was solidifying his reputation as one of Canada's most articulate singer-songwriters. The Silver Tractors, his backing band, featured a lineup of notable Canadian musicians, giving the album a fuller, more rock-oriented sound than some of his earlier, folk-infused work.
