Traffic
Last Exit is the fourth and final studio album by British rock band Traffic. It was released in 1969 and marked a departure from the band's earlier psychedelic sound to a more jazz-influenced style. The album features only three tracks, each taking up an entire side of the vinyl record. The opening track "Just for You" is a slow and moody piece with melancholic lyrics, while the second track "Shanghai Noodle Factory" is an up-tempo instrumental with a prominent flute solo. The final track "Something's Got a Hold of My Toe" is a funky and experimental jam with spoken-word poetry and psychedelic guitar riffs.
Despite not being as commercially successful as their previous albums, Last Exit is praised by many music critics and fans as a masterpiece of experimental rock. The album showcases Traffic's musical versatility and their willingness to take risks and experiment with different genres. The fusion of rock and jazz elements, coupled with the band's exceptional musicianship, makes for a truly unique and captivating listening experience. If you're a fan of psychedelic rock, jazz, or experimental music, Last Exit is definitely an album worth checking out.
