Layla And Other Assorted Love Songs
1970 US 2LP gatefold original, Presswell pressing. Conservative VG+ gem! Vibrant VG++ cover but spine has small ding & tear towards bottom and corner ding. The album "Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs" was recorded and released in 1970 by the band Derek and the Dominos. The band was formed by the guitarist Eric Clapton after his departure from the band Cream. The band consisted of Clapton, Bobby Whitlock on keyboards and vocals, Carl Radle on bass, Jim Gordon on drums and special guest Duane Allman on guitar. The album was produced by Tom Dowd and was recorded at Criteria Studios in Miami. The album consisted of 14 tracks, including the iconic song "Layla," which has since become one of Clapton's most well-known songs. The album received critical acclaim upon its release but initially was not a commercial success. It wasn't until the release of the single "Layla" in 1971 that the album gained popularity and eventually became a commercial success. The album is now regarded as a classic rock album and is considered one of Clapton's greatest works. It has been reissued several times and has been included in numerous "best album" lists.
