Little Lost Girls
Sealed 1981 Picture Disc. Little Lost Girls, Originally Titled And Now...The Runaways, Turned Out To Be The Band's Swan Song And Was Recorded Without Bass Player Jackie Fox And Lead Vocalist Cherie Currie. It's A Mixed Bag That Met With Little Success. The Band Had Already Been Falling Apart During The Recording Sessions, And Finally Packed It In A Year Later. The Best Songs Are Covers: The Rockin' "Black Leather," Written By Former Sex Pistol Steve Jones (Who Would Guest On Joan Jett's Solo Debut), And "Mama Weer All Crazee Now," A Faithful Cover Of Slade's Glam Rock Original. The Only Cover That Doesn't Quite Work: "Eight Days A Week," A Fairly Lackluster Version Of The Beatles' Classic. The Rest Of The Material Was Written By Jett, Lita Ford, Sandy West, And Earl Slick/Tonio K ("Saturday Night Special," Another One Of The Better Tracks). So The Infamous Runaways, Marketed From The Start As Party-Hearty Jailbait ("Hello Dad/Hello Mom/I'm A Ch-Ch-Ch-Cherry Bomb!") By Manager/Svengali Kim Fowley, Had Come To An Ignoble End.” – Kathleen C. Fennessy, All Music Guide
