England Dan & John Ford Coley
The duo, consisting of Dan Seals and John Ford Coley, began their musical career in the late 1960s as members of various bands. They formed a duo in 1971 and signed with A&M Records in 1972. Their first album, "Fables," was released in 1972 but did not achieve commercial success.
Their breakthrough came in 1976 with the release of "Nights Are Forever." The album reached #17 on the Billboard 200 chart and spawned the hit singles "Nights Are Forever Without You" and "It's Sad to Belong," which peaked at #10 and #21, respectively, on the Billboard Hot 100.
The album was produced by Kyle Lehning, who would go on to produce albums for Randy Travis and George Strait, among others. It features contributions from session musicians such as David Foster, who plays keyboards on several tracks.
Overall, "Nights Are Forever" is considered to be one of England Dan & John Ford Coley's best albums, showcasing their smooth vocal harmonies and melodic songwriting.
