Play Don't Worry
1975 Gatefold original. "Play Don't Worry," released in 1975, is the second solo album by English guitarist and producer Mick Ronson. Known primarily for his influential work with David Bowie as the lead guitarist and arranger for the Spiders from Mars, Ronson used this album to further develop his individual artistry outside Bowie’s orbit. Recorded at Trident Studios in London, the album features an eclectic selection of songs, combining original material with covers that showcase Ronson's diverse musical influences. Notable guests on the album include musicians such as Trevor Bolder and Mike Garson, both of whom were also part of Bowie’s circle, highlighting the interconnected nature of the British rock scene at the time. After the success and eventual dissolution of the Spiders from Mars, Ronson was attempting to establish himself as a solo act while navigating the changing landscape of mid-1970s rock music.
