The World As It Is Today
Rare 1981 UK Original with booklet. Appears Glossy. "Nimbus England" Stamped In The Dead wax Both Sides. The band was formed in 1978 by three former members of the progressive rock group Henry Cow: Fred Frith, Chris Cutler, and Dagmar Krause. The album was the band's third and final studio release, following "Hopes and Fears" (1978) and "Winter Songs" (1979). "The World As It Is Today" features more experimentation with electronic and industrial sounds, and is considered a departure from the band's earlier, more acoustic work.

The album's themes touch on issues of political and social unrest, environmental destruction, and the struggles of the working class. The lyrics are often bleak and confrontational, reflecting the band's leftist political beliefs. Art Bears disbanded shortly after its release and the album has since gained a cult following and is considered a landmark in experimental rock and post-punk music.
