Twice A Woman
Rare 1980 Original Jazz Soundtrack To The Movie Twee Vrouwen - Twice A Woman. Dutch Composer Willem Breuker Wrote Numerous Soundtracks For Movies And Theater, But His Work For George Sluizer's Film Twice A Woman Comes About As Close To A "Standard" Soundtrack As Anything He'd Done. It Includes Some Lovely Thematic Writing And Fine Playing. The Ensemble Includes Several Members Of Breuker's Kollektief And Is The First Recorded Instance Of His Association With Keyboardist Henk De Jonge, A Partnership That Would Last Into The Next Century. Breuker Himself Plays On Only Two Tracks: Clarinet On The Melancholy "Sylvia's Proposal" (Which, Along With "Sur l'Autoroute," Would Continue To Be Performed By The Kollektief In Coming Years) And Soulful Tenor On "Love." Unplayed Condition.
