1970 US original gatefold with company inner. Solid VG+. "USA Union," released in 1970, marks a distinctive period in John Mayall’s prolific career. After the dissolution of his Bluesbreakers band, Mayall moved to the United States and recorded this album with an entirely new lineup. The personnel on "USA Union" included guitarist Harvey Mandel, bassist Larry Taylor—both from Canned Heat—and violinist Don "Sugarcane" Harris. This unique configuration gave the album a character all its own, notably absent of drums, which set it apart from standard blues rock recordings of the era. The songs on "USA Union" reflect Mayall's growing environmental and social concerns, with lyrics that often address issues of nature, migration, and life on the American West Coast.
