Love Craft

We Love You Whoever You Are
Sealed 1975 Original. Tiny Cut Out Hole. “From H.P. Lovecraft To Lovecraft To Love Craft, Drummer Michael Tegza Was Determined To Keep Reinventing The Band That Brought Him Fame. He's To Be Commended For Persevering, Even If This Is Twice Removed From The Original Psychedelic Group That Derived Its Name From The Fantasy Writer H.P.Lovecraft. The Valley Of The Moon Album On Reprise Five Years Earlier Had Tegza Taking The Group In A More Mainstream Direction, And By Revamping The Lineup Totally For This Combination Of Urban Pop And Slick Blues, The Sound Swings Even Further To The Right. Lalomie Washburn Has A Great Voice, And She Looks Like A Princess On The Back Album Cover, But The Band Sounds A Bit Like Ten Wheel Drive, Post Genya Ravan And Without The Horns. There Are Timbales, Conga, Synthesizers, And A Gong, But The Group Doesn't Go Far Enough In To Santana Territory As One Might Feel They Would. The Problem With Every Incarnation Of This Ensemble Is That They Never Got To Hone Their Craft, No Pun Intended, Over A Period Of Five Or Six Albums. Where Similar Groups Like Atlanta Rhythm Section, Player, And Ambrosia All Had Hits To Propel Them, Songs Like "You're Smile," "I Feel Better," And "Flight" Have No Concept Of Saturating The Airwaves. We Love You Whoever You Are Is Important Because It Tracks A Member Of An Influential Group Holding On And Forging A New Identity. If Only Doug Yule Had Called The "Group" On His Squeeze Album The Underground Or The Velvets Instead Of The Velvet Underground, Which It Was Not. This Album Isn't H.P. Lovecraft Either, And Doesn't Claim To Be. For What It Is, It Gets A Nod Of Approval.” – Joe Viglione, All Music Guide.
