1983 Original Housed In A Gatefold Cover. A TAS Superdisc LP. Released in 1982, "Wild Things Run Fast" marked a significant turning point in Joni Mitchell’s career, both musically and personally. After a decade noted for her innovative folk and jazz explorations, Mitchell shifted toward a more mainstream pop and rock sound on this album. The record was heavily influenced by contemporary artists and genres, including elements of new wave and synth-driven pop that were prominent in the early 1980s. Mitchell was inspired by watching MTV, leading her to pursue a fresher, more current approach in songwriting and production. This evolution was partly facilitated by collaborations with musicians like Larry Klein, who played bass and soon became her husband, as well as the involvement of other notable artists like Michael Landau and Vinnie Colaiuta.
