Waters, Muddy

Sweet Home Chicago
1982 Original Featuring Previously Unreleased Recordings From The Golden Era Of Chicago Blues. Muddy is a true living legend, and his newest recordings show that he has lost little of the power or urgency that made him a star over thirty years ago. This collection of recordings is a bona-fide treasure trove for Muddy Waters' fans the world over. The music on this album consists of NEVER BEFORE RELEASED RECORDINGS, culled from the archives of Chess Records by top blues producer Norm Dayron, who was responsible for the production on Muddy's classic Fathers and Sons LP for Chess. The recordings on this LP are primarily from what is considered the "golden era" of Chicago blues, and consist of alternate never-before-released versions of many of Muddy's best known works. There are truly amazingly powerful renditions of Rollin' Stone (from which the group the Rolling Stones took their name), I'm Ready, the slow and sultry Rock Me, the powerful She Moves Me, and as a bonus first, the first release ever of the only gospel recording ever known to have been recorded by Muddy, Goin' Home, which was produced by Norm Dayron.
